Jewel of the Nile
Beaded ornaments glamorize a tropical blossom. A fabulous 'Pink Ice' Protea is glamorously embellished with jeweled collar, fashioned from disassembled ornaments, as well as the dangling intact ornaments, adorn the unusual blossom for a fabulous black-tie affair. The long Protea stem, wrapped with layers of ribbon and beading wire, is visually extended by the addition of another ornament at the end. Hot glue and beading wire will hold the stylish accessory in place for the duration of the event. Inexpensive plastic ornaments are available from craft outlets during the Christmas season and work beautifully, both assembled and disassembled, for the wire-strung garlands that accent this tropical floral wand.

Here's How:
- Remove the foliage from the stem of a 'Pink Ice' Protea. Wrap the stem with ribbon, and wrap the ribbon-covered stem with beading wire.
- Disassemble several jeweled or beaded ornaments. String the individual jewels on beading wire. Wrap the strand of jewels around the base of the Protea blossom.
- Attach two intact ornaments to ribbon, and allow them to dangle beneath the Protea. Glue a third ornament to the end of the Protea stem, and further adhere it to the stem with beading wire.
