Marketing & Promotions

The Marketing and Promotion Committee deals with the broad fields of education, advertising, market research, promotion, and trade of flowers. Commission activities may include, but not be limited to, improving the market position of California cut flowers and cut greens producers through promotion.

For example, the CCFC may:

  1. Promote the sale of cut flowers and/or cut greens through advertising and other public relations means for the purpose of maintaining and expanding present markets, and creating new and larger foreign markets for cut flowers and/or cut greens.
  2. Enter into tie-in advertising with other products.
  3. Educate and instruct the wholesale and retail trade in domestic and foreign markets with respect to proper methods of handling and selling cut flowers and/or cut greens.
  4. Conduct marketing research including the study, analysis, accumulation and dissemination of information obtained from the research and make market surveys and analysis.

The committee is made up of nine members who are appointed by the CCFC chairman of the board. This year the Marketing and Promotion committee is chaired by Chad Nelson of Eufloria Flowers, Nipomo. Other members are: Hans Brand (B&H Flowers), Erin Caird (Por La Mar), Shelby Ebel (Koch California), Phil Kenney (Mellano & Co), Don Marek (Topstar), Diana Roy (Resendiz Brothers), Sharon Suyeyasu (Green Valley) and June Van Wingerden (Ocean Breeze).
