California Cut Flower Commission Announces District Commissioner
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Sept. 17, 2008) - The California Cut Flower Commission (CCFC) is pleased to announce Lane DeVries, President and CEO of The Sun Valley Group in Arcata, as the new commissioner for District One. In this role, Lane will join commissioners from throughout the state in helping set goals, strategies and deliverables for the CCFC as it relates to governmental affairs, marketing and promotions, economic development and transportation.
“We are delighted to have Lane on-board as district one commissioner,” says Wilja Happe, CCFC Board Chairperson. “His insight and expertise will help all of us as we work together through CCFC to achieve what none of us could accomplish on our own.”

About the California Cut Flower Commission
The CCFC is a state commission, created by the state legislature to promote California- grown cut flowers and foliages. The CCFC is overseen by the California Department of Food and Agriculture and is funded by assessments on its growers. There are approximately 275 growers of flowers and foliage distributed throughout the state. They produce and market some $330 million worth of flowers and foliage each year. Roughly 10,000 California jobs are associated with the industry.
